Agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Refract website, dashboard, and API (the Service). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service
Refract uses AI models to turn source material you provide into written content for different platforms, and to generate short videos from text prompts. Features may change as we improve the product. We will describe notable changes on the changelog.
Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your login details secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
- One person may not create multiple accounts to collect extra free credits.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Create content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit.
- Impersonate real people, create deceptive deepfakes, or mislead others about the origin of content.
- Generate spam, phishing messages, or content intended to manipulate platforms or engagement metrics.
- Infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- Probe, overload, or attack the Service, or bypass credit limits or other restrictions.
Your content
You keep ownership of the source material you submit and, to the extent permitted by law, of the outputs generated for you. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit that content only as needed to operate the Service, including sending it to our AI providers to generate results.
You are responsible for the content you submit and for how you use the outputs. Make sure you have the right to use any source material you paste into the Service.
AI generated output
AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or similar to content produced for other users. Always review outputs before you publish them, and do not rely on them as professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. Platform rules change, so check that content meets the policies of the platform where you post it.
Credits and plans
- The Free plan includes a credit allowance that refills every 30 days. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
- Credit costs for each action are listed on the pricing page. Free plan accounts can render 1 AI video in total. A failed video render returns both its credits and the video allowance.
- Paid plans are marked Coming soon and are not available for purchase. When they launch, their prices and terms will be shown before you buy.
- We may change credit allowances or costs with reasonable notice.
Trademarks
Refract and its logo belong to us. Platform names and logos shown on the site, such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and others, are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used only to describe the platforms our tools write for. Refract is not affiliated with or endorsed by those companies.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account through the contact page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the Service or other users at risk.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Refract is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, which for Free plan users is zero.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
